ABOUT AMY

Amy began her adventure in birth work in 2005. Prior to that, she was a stay at home mom to her three kids. She became a trained doula locally in 2005, In early 2006, she attended her first home birth and VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) as a doula. Amy then tested the waters as a midwife’s assistant, and by June of 2006, a midwifery apprentice for a local independent midwife. For the next few years, she worked along side her preceptor midwife until her apprenticeship was complete.

In 2009, Amy was offered an internship at CHOICE, choicemidwives, and the next year passed her certification exam becoming a Certified Professional Midwife through NARM. Since then, Amy has been a primary practicing home birth midwife in Central Ohio. Counties she serves include Franklin, Licking, Fairfield, Muskingum, and Knox.

She has attended about 500 births since the beginning, with experience in breech, twins, and VBAC's. Amy is certified in neonatal resuscitation and CPR.

When she isn't tending to other families, Amy enjoys living in the hills of Granville, Ohio, raising three teenagers as a single mom, cheering on the kids at soccer games, some fun photography work, cooking, hot yoga, nutrition, music, the ocean, and spending time with friends and family when she can.
